A letter record to NZblood about the concern of lifesaver's safety and better supports.

On 10th August 2023, I handed in a printed out of "complaint & suggestion letter" to Epsom NZblood head office (email and post have been sent as well). I am waiting for the responding from the official. However, I might need to remind the leaders again.

I am writing to express my concerns and frustrations regarding a matter of utmost importance – the reduction of blood donations and the disturbing incidents surrounding them. I had previously contacted you via phone in March 2022 to discuss this matter, but I feel it is imperative to bring my concerns to your attention once again.

Over the past several years, there have been concerning incidents involving gang stalking, manipulation, bribing, harassment and intimidation towards blood donors and their families, who have scheduled donations with your organization. It is disheartening to witness the extent to which Asian Chinese governments and local elements have resorted to such unethical tactics, which include stalking, bribery, and intimidation. These actions have had a direct impact on donors, particularly those from Asian, Pacific, and Kiwi societies.

The motivations behind these acts are deeply troubling. The extremely low blood donation rates within certain Asian Chinese communities and the influence of political agendas on private businesses and good families have created a climate of fear and apprehension. Furthermore, the lack of appropriate response from New Zealand law enforcement and parliamentary bodies is disconcerting. It appears that economic considerations have taken precedence over the wellbeing and safety of the people they are entrusted to protect.

I firmly believe that social justice and ethical integrity should take precedence over economic gains. To address these issues, I would like to offer a few suggestions for consideration:

Community Engagement and Support: NZblood should establish a comprehensive support system for blood donors, including the creation of a donor chat forum. This platform would facilitate communication among donors, providing a safe space for them to share experiences, advice, and encouragement.

Community Events: Organizing regular events, such as BBQ parties or gatherings, would allow donors to connect and engage in a positive and uplifting environment. These events could foster a sense of unity and solidarity among donors, while also helping to raise awareness about the importance of blood donation.

Diversity and Education: In an effort to combat misinformation and dispel myths surrounding blood donation, NZblood should invest in educational initiatives targeted at Asian Chinese, such the oversea young leader groups of Asia-UKUS Cantonese, Minnanese, Shanghaiese and Beijingese communities. By informing potential donors about the benefits and the process, these campaigns could help alleviate fears and concerns.

By raising awareness about the issues donors are facing and advocating for appropriate safeguards, we can create a safer environment for blood donation.

In addition to addressing the aforementioned concerns, I believe that NZblood has the potential to make an even more profound impact on society. I would like to propose the establishment of events that could bring together individuals to participate in discussions and activities that promote community bonding and support. This initiative could foster a culture of compassion, understanding, and unity.
